Wie ein Gebirgsmassiv mit eigenem Maßstab türmt sich das BMI vor der S-Bahn auf und kann sich zwischen den anderen großmaßstäblichen Bauwerken behaupten. Die Dynamik des Baukörpers bezieht sich auf die städtebaulichen Referenzen S-Bahn und Spree.

Mit wechselnder Perspektive des Betrachters ändert sich das Erscheinungsbild vom Bergmassiv zu schlanken linearen Baukörpern mit durchgängigen Grünzügen.

Majestätisch verbeugen sich die Gebäudekörper vor dem Eingangshof, zeigen sich offen und transparent. Unter dem hohen Vordach wird der Besucher ins klar strukturierte Innere geführt. Das großzügige Foyer fungiert als Verteiler, an dem alle wichtigen Teile anliegen. Die einzelnen Abteilungen sind auf 4 Riegel verteilt, die es den Mitarbeitern ermöglichen sich mit ihrem Gebäude zu identifizieren.

Like a rock mass with its own scale the BMI is piling up in front of the railway-trace and the river spree and can stand up to the other buildings with their big scale. The dynamic of the volume is related to the urbanistic references, the railway-trace and the river spree.

With changing perspective of the spectator the appearance of the building is changing from a rock mass to slim linear volumes with continuous green stripes.

Majestically the volumes are bowing to the entrance yard, show themselves open and transparent. Underneath the high porch the visitor is lead to the clear structured inside. The amply foyer works as a distributor, to that conduct all the important parts. The single departments are distributed to 4 bars, that allow the employees to identify themselves with their building.
