Ein terrassiertes Grundstück in mitten von Weinbergen an der Küste Nordportugals ist der Ort an dem das Ferienhaus gebaut wurde. Aus der vorhandenen Stützmauer aus Granit entwicket sich der untere Baukörper. Ein Schlitz zwischen dem steinernen Haus und der Erde der oberen Terrasse erschließt das Haus. Ein verspiegeltes Fenster in der steinernen Masse verlängert den Pool ins Unendliche. Das Fenster des Wohnraumes kann im Boden versenkt werden und bietet einen Ausblick auf die Küste. Im pool schwimmend ist  die Brandung zu sehen.

Der auf dem steinernen Sockel und dem höheren Geländeteil aufliegende Baukörper aus Holz umschließt skulptural den kleinen Garten und orientiert sich zum Meer. Wand und Dach sind mit breiten Brettern als Stulpschalung verkleidet, auch die Fensterläden sind aus dem gleichen Material, ein monolithischer Körper, der die skulpturale Absicht unterstreicht.

A terraced land in the middle of vineyards on the northern coast of Portugal is the place for this summer residence. The lower building is growing out of the existing supporting wall, built with granit stones. A cut between the stone house and the earth of the upper level, is the entrance to the house. A mirrored window in the stony mass extendes the pool ad infinitum. The window of the living room can be lowered in the floor and offers a great view to the coast.  While swimming in the pool you can see the surge.

The wooden part of the building that lies on top of the stony basement and the upper level encloses sculpturally the little garden and is orientated to the sea. Wall and roof are covered with wide boards, even the shutters are in the same material, a monolithic volume, that emphasizes the sculptural intention.
