Poetisch ist Alvaro Sizas Vorstellung von Natur und so ist auch sein in die Landschaft eingebettetes Projekt. An der Raketenstation der Insel Hombroich angekommen, ist zunächst nur das Dach des Gebäudes zu sehen. Ein geführter Weg führt den Besucher durch Erdwälle zum Haupteingang. Beim Betreten des Museums gelangt man nach einer Tür in den Hauptraum, der mit einem spektakulären Ausblick die Hauptintention des Gebäudes zeigt. Alle Räume sind um einen Innenhof herum ausgerichtet, der einen gerahmten Blick auf die Landschaft und die Skyline von Düsseldorf bietet. An einer armartigen Erweiterung des Gebäudes befindet sich der Baukörper, der die Fotosammlung beherbergt und dem Ensemble zusätzliche  Spannung verleiht.

Poetic is Alvaro Sizas idea of nature and so is his project placed into the landscape.  Arriving at the Raketentation of Insel Hombroich, first there is only the roof of the building visible. A well staged way leads the visitor through earth walls to the main entrance. Entering the museum, someone can reach after a turn the main space, that shows with a spectacular view the main intention of the building. All rooms are orientated arund a center court, that offers a framed view to the landscape and the skyline of Düsseldorf. On an armlike extension of the building is the volume that hosts the foto-collection and gives even more tension to the ensemble.
