Bei der symbiotischen Tierhaltung, nach Karl Ludwig Schweisfurth, werden Tiere zum gegenseitigen Nutzen zusammen gehalten. Die Schweine brechen beim Wühlen den Boden auf, die Hühner folgen ihnen und finden so auch ihr Futter.

Der Kombistall bietet in der unteren Ebene Platz für 6-8 Schweine, in der oberen Etage ist Platz für ca. 60 Legehennen. Die Wärme der Schweine steigt nach oben und erwärmt den Hühnerstall. Gleichzeitig beschützen die Schweine das Geflügel vor Füchsen und Raubvögeln. Der Stall ist sehr leicht und in 2 Teilen gebaut, so dass er mit dem Frontlader einfach versetzt werden kann, wenn die Tiere auf eine neue Weide umziehen.

Wichtig ist uns, dass die Architektur ein neues Bild von Kulturlandschaft zeigt, eine Erinnerung an alte, kleine landwirtschaftliche Gebäude in eine zeitgemäße Sprache übersetzt. Der Maßstab der Bauten ist entscheidend, er ist nicht störend in unserer schönen Landschaft, sondern fügt sich ein, auch in einer Art von Symbiose.

Mit einer modernen Fertigung durch die Abbundanlage der Zimmerei sind die Kombiställe preiswert zu realisieren. Die vielen Details und Erfindungen gehen auf die langjährige Erfahrung von Karl Ludwig Schweisfurth zurück und haben sich über viele Jahre bewährt.
